Comparing High Schools
What do parents ask when comparing private high schools?
What do high school students at Prestige work toward?
All Prestige School high school courses count toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
How does Prestige prepare high school students for university?
University counselling at Prestige School begins in Grade 9. Prestige School reports 100% University/Post-Secondary Acceptance. Ask the admissions team which graduating years that figure covers.
How large are the classes?
Class size at Prestige School is capped at a maximum of 18 students. A cap is a ceiling, not an average, so ask any school you compare how many students sit in the classes your child would actually join.
When can a student start, and how do we apply?
Prestige School accepts students year-round at every grade level, and there is no single application deadline. The Brilliance Assessment is the first step in the admissions process. Families changing schools in January or February can enrol and start within weeks, not the following September.
When another school may suit your family better.
If your child wants a wide choice of electives, or a specific team or club, a larger secondary school may suit them better. Before you decide, ask the admissions team at the schools on your list which courses and activities run in your child’s grade, how they report university acceptance and which graduating years that figure covers.
